How important is senior rigor?

One things we don’t know, and this is crucial, is which schools OP is aiming for? For some schools, his APs are fine. For others, not rigorous enough - it’s all in the context. Not that you should necessarily adjust your rigor based on where you plan on applying - if you aren’t academically oriented and plan on taking 5 APs, probably not a good idea, even if you want to go to Ivies, as it would be better to adjust your expectations.

@MrMom62 I am aiming for northwestern and cornell

In that case, your schedule will likely not be seen as very rigorous, but it all depends on what’s available at your HS. What’s the most rigorous schedule someone could put together at your HS without being insanely hard, i.e. no 6 or 7 AP schedules.

Can you give us your entire HS schedule, indicating Honors or AP, and what the most rigorous possible would be (ie., does your HS offer 4 APs or 15? IB? Dual enrollment?)

I don’t know the specific number, but my hs offers around 20 ap classes. The average ap a student takes is 2. The school tries to limit the amount we can take to prevent stress since our curriculum is very demanding already without ap classes.
@MYOS1634 the most rigorous possible is 5 aps in one year. very few people take 5 in one year, maybe like 3-5 in each grade. my school is very very large. I’m not in any honors classes, but not many honor classes are offered at my school, only for math and science.
