How important is the Diversity essay?

<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I just realized that I may not have answered the prompt for the diversity essay accurately. I wrote about my experiences being exposed to diversity(language and race) and what I learned from those experiences. I did not really define my concept of diversity. I was assuming the diversity they meant was racial diversity and what not... :l</p>

<p>Did I answer the prompt correctly? How much weight do they place on the Diversity essay in the admission process?</p>

<p>As long as you reflected on the topic in some way that is meaningful to you, it should be fine. They are interested in whether you are a competent writer and thoughtful and I bet you demonstrated both.</p>
