<p>How important is the SAT Writing section to Skidmore College?</p>
<p>My S received a 6 on the ACT writing section with a composite of 30 and was admitted. He also had a 3.5 W GPA with AP and honors courses. He had received an 8 on the SAT writing section a week earlier however his total score was much lower for the SAT than the ACT ( only the ACT score was submitted). We were concerned but reassured by the Admissions committee during an on-line info session in mid-October, that a thirty minute writing section is not given heavy weight ( if at all) in the admission process. Instead, they commented, that the college essay is far more important. Needless to say, it was a relief and they obviously stood by their word.</p>
