I’m currently a freshman at a top ~30 university (think Tufts, Rice, USC, Wake Forest, etc.). I’m interested in investment banking or private equity as a long-term career. How is Brown viewed on Wall Street? Also, what is the transfer acceptance rate?

Transfer acceptance rate is VERY low (much lower than freshman). Brown is viewed very well on wall street. Don’t know anyone who was after it that didn’t get a job.

the transfer rate varies every year. sometimes it’s higher than the freshman rate, but it evaluates a different kind of criteria and has a more self-selecting applicant pool. last I checked, it is also not need-blind.

Also, can somebody give me a list of banks and consulting firms that recruit Brown? Or about where your friends have gotten internships/jobs?

I’ve seen most of the top banks/firms at the career fairs and holding their own recruitment sessions. I wouldn’t be worried that you won’t be offered a job.

We’ve had a number of Wall Street firms take an interest in our students. Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, and JP Morgan are just a couple of the ones that appear at our on campus career fairs.
