So here’s what I plan on taking my senior year of high school (next year):
-Honors Physics 1
-Foundations of Drama
-Myth and Memoir (english elective, deals with story telling and reading myths/old literature, lots of writing)
-Foundations of Cinematography
-CP Statistics
-AP Literature&Composition
-Comparative Religion (SS elective)
-Free block
Do you think I have too many electives and not enough rigor? Should I switch out Drama for CP Psychology?
Thanks.
IMHO - Take the courses that interest you the most - but that said, you should also consider your area(s) of interest in college, and where you plan to apply. For example, if you are thinking LAC, you might choose different courses than if you plan on pursuing an engineering career.
My two cents- I don’t think you have a very rigorous schedule for senior year. Now, this may or may not be a bad thing. It all depends on which schools you are looking at. If you are looking at, say, the top 20s or more selective schools, a schedule like this will most likely hurt you, since colleges will see it as you are slacking off. Admissions officers I have spoken to say they like to see continuous rigor in your course selection.
What about a foreign language? Do you already have at least 2 years? Some colleges like to see 2-4 years depending on what you want to major in.
@MerryLee yeah I took AP Spanish last year and finished with an A+
Also I did German 1 but it was with a bunch of freshman and really slow paced so I’m not going to take 2 and 3 next year cause I have more fun studying it on my own
