How is this possible?

Go to https://careers.calpoly.edu/search.php and go to 2014-15 Mechanical Engineering Undergrads
Scroll down and there is a MechE grad who is making 200k as a Product desginer!!!
how is this possible? str8 out of college 2!

I am not an expert but I believe the data you are looking out is self-reported. If it is, then take it with a grain of salt…
I would look at the averages since in most cases, there are occasional outliers.

im still astonished on how CS grads get so much?
like for SLO last year was 95k and Cal was 107K,
why do they get payed a lot more than MechE and ElectricalE which most people believe to be harder?

As others have said, this data is self reported, I have a hard time believing someone makes >200k as a product designer with a ME degree.

That said, pay is determined by supply and demand (like everything else in economics), not by how hard a major is. At top 5 large software companies on the west coast fresh CS (and related majors) graduates with no experience start with >100k. That’s been true for at least 3-4 years I have observed things personally. These companies can’t get their hands on enough top talent, and that is increasingly true as the industry continues to grow by taking over more fields and as hiring from abroad becomes increasingly difficult, for very many reasons.
