How is UB?

Hello,
I have just been accepted into UB and I am wondering how it is there. How is the food? Is it good, bad or decent. How is the campus? Is it beautiful or just like any other college campus. I am also wondering about how the dorms are and if there is a long line to take a shower. However, the most important things I am wondering about is what kind of Pre-Medical help they offer.

Thanks to who ever takes the time to reply to my questions and please add any personal experiences. For example, do you like it over there and why and if you do not, why not.

Anyone can answer my questions?

The campus is green and has a lake. Pretty large area. Dorm’s a clustered together as is the academic area (or academic spine). Once you get to class, you can walk inside to all other buildings. Convenient in the cold winter.

Dining- I think there is a selection both in dorm dining halls and in the union, academic areas.

North campus is in a residential area. Lots and lots of shops and restaurants around, though not in waling distance.

UB is known for it’s sciences so I would believe any science major will be fine. Advisers should be able to help you with pre-med questions. UB has a Med school, so certainly you will be able to get advice from them as well.

Kids appear to “regular kids”. Nice group.

Not too far from the Buffalo airport if you need that. Hotels pretty close to campus.

As a parent, we liked the campus a lot when we visited and as son subsequently enrolled at UB we have found the academics, and opportunities at UB to be wonderful. Son is very happy there.

Hopefully a student will give you their prospective as well. Where else are you considering?

I am considering Geneseo, Binghamton, Stony, Buffalo, and Waynesburg (PA private school)

Thanks for your response.

In the 2 years I lived in dorms, never had to wait to take a shower.

Food is meh in the residential dining halls but good elsewhere on campus (student union, Bert’s food court, anywhere in the Commons).
