Especially compared to Columbia or Yale.

Brown is liberal, although if you look under some rocks you’ll find a stray conservative. Moderates are pretty easy to find. Most universities in the Northeast are liberal. Trying to delineate the gradations is like trying to count the number of angels dancing on the head of a pin.

Liberal in what way? Socially? Fiscally? Politically?

From what I know, Brown is one of the most socially liberal Ivies. You’ll probably find a few more fiscal/political conservatives or moderates.

It is pretty comparable to Yale imo. I’m not as familiar with the student body at Columbia.

I think providence vs nyc has a much bigger impact on the difference in student life than political leaning.

I also still can’t wrap my head around people who are genuinely interested in both the open and core curriculums. The educational philosophies of Columbia and Brown couldn’t be more different.
