How many APs does your school offer? Is it easy to get into them?

We have…
Calc AB
Calc BC
Physics C
English Lit
Statistics
US History
Studio Art
French
Spanish
Computer Science
Offer prep for Chemistry and Biology, but not the actual test.

That’s it I think. Pretty much if you sign up, you’ll get in, as long as it fits with your schedule and you’ve taken the necessary pre-req courses. Although the way our scheduling works, you can only take about 6 at most by the end of high school (because of all our required courses and stuff).

My school doesn’t offer any.

We have 15 or 16, and they’re pretty tough to get into. No one is even allowed to take any until junior year.

You have to have an A in a regular class or a B in an honors class of the same subject the previous year. You also need a recommendation from your teacher and the department chair.

None. No honours neither.

@mrclassicfreak

Same here. No AP, no honors.

1 honors, 4 AP

AP US Gov
AP USH
AP Calc AB
AP Bio

all a person needs to take an AP is a B average.

usually the highest GPA students don’t take AP because of no weighted grades, so they think the class will bring them down. so most APs are the average students.

in my school there’s probably like almost 20 aps and 15 ibs…u can get into them if ur not completely ■■■■■■■■ (probably anything above 2.0 UW)

4 AP’s on paper
English (both)
Calculus (running this year after a while, or maybe first time)
US History (been around for a while)

I took English Lang and USH in Junior year. Our AP chem was a bust due to lack of people but me and my friend take it independently and the class is called AP. I also am doing European History AP but it’s independent study and is called something else due to no class number in our scheduling systems (weird I know).

–

Around May our school will probably have 7 AP subject exams given. Me and a friend both plan on taking World History AP test too.

Confusing eh? lol

We have…

AP Calculus AB
AP Calculus BC
AP Physics
AP Chemistry
AP French
AP Spanish
AP Environmental Sciences
AP European History
AP US Government
AP English
AP Java Programming
AP Biology

and a couple I forget. Most have prerequisites one needs a B+ or more for, I believe.

Basically most classes from 10th on have an honors counterpart

As for AP, there’s

AP Spanish Lang/Lit
AP Bio
AP World
AP Euro
AP Art History
AP US
AP English Lang/Lit
AP Government
AP Econ(s)
AP Calc(s)
AP Statistics

That’s it I think. To get in you need a teacher rec and an A in the previous same subject class. Basically I’ve had the same people in my classes since 10th grade. Gets boring eventually. Our school’s AP classes are sort of a joke but we have a really high pass rate. Smart kids, you say? well only one person in those classes has a 2000+ on the SAT, and three have a 30+ on the ACT. I really don’t know.

Art/Music: (AP) Studio Art, (AP) Art History, (AP) Music Theory

Which is 34 split between AP and honors. It is a lot more than most schools, or at least the ones I know of. And they are relatively easy to get into. No Fails or D’s and for AP English (both) you must write a timed essay, but it really doesn’t matter that much.

^ Pretty much the whole list.

My school offers ten(ish). There are supposedly prerequisites but in reality anyone can get in(and fail). The problem is that not enough people sign up. AP psychology has about 4 people and they merged with regular psychology.

I’m not sure of the exact number, but the curriculum guide implies that my school offers at least one test in every subject. Unfortunately, that is very untrue. The amount of APs available leads to teacher availability and the number of students that register for the course…this most often leads to classes disappearing in the middle of the year with no apparent reason.

It’s pretty easy to get into all of them (except for Music, Art, and Comp. Sci – you have to be in the magnet programs) because it seems that prereqs are never enforced around here.

We offer 17, 3 are mandatory and I’m pretty sure they’re easy to get into.
