How many APs have you already taken or are currently taking? How many are offered at your school?

Which courses?

Optional (just out of curiousity): official/predicted scores?

This is my first year of taking ap's of which I plan on taking 3. Then I plan on taking 5 next year. My school offers
Art History
Biology
Calculus AB
Calculus BC
Chemistry
Computer Science A
Computer Science AB
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics

English Literature
European History
French Language
German Language
U.S. Government & Politics
Music Theory
Physics B
Physics C

Spanish Language
Statistics
Studio Art
U.S. History
World History

I plan on taking. Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Government, English Literature, German Language, US History, Statistics, Physics B, Psychology.

My school offers English 11 AP (Lang/Comp), English 12 AP (Lit/Comp), Calculus AB, US History AP, and AP Government/Econ, which prepares for the government test. I'm taking all of the classes and all of the tests. I'm also preparing on my own for AP Chemistry and AP Calculus BC...

I got 5s on Lang/Comp, US History and Calc AB last year.

whoa thats a lot of ap offered. my school offers that list minus english lang, european his, world his, german lan, music theo, only one physics (dunno which), psychology, and studio art. we've also got environmental science, although idk if i'd take that.

13 ap's offered total. :'( i would have liked to have taken euro and world his.

i should complete 8 total by the end of senior year if they let me:
ap calc bc
ap american govt
ap us his
ap bio
ap chem
ap physics (agh... maybe)
ap latin
ap english

the three sciences look shady... i'd be taking two sciences in one year which the administration can give a big pain in the a** about not being able to accomodate before giving up.

ack, i hate my school. there are so many requirements and restrictions to taking ap's.

Would it be considered a restriction if your school doesn't offer it at all? Because then there would be a lot of restrictions on AP classes at my school.

Taken 3, taking 4

u.s.history, chem, english, spanish, bio, calc a, stats

yes that would definitely factor into the admissions process. you really can't help it if your school doesn't offer a certain course. i know that for my school, a pamphlet (sp?) goes out with every official transcript to colleges. i kinda stole one from the gc and it basically "sells" our school because it has info like the ap and ib courses we offer, statistics like number of people who scored 5's, 4's, 3's, sat i scores, etc.

i have taken 5 AP's and iam currently taking 5 classes and taking 2 other tests (independent study)

my schools offers 12 AP's
taken:
art history 3
english language 3
spanish language 5
us history 4
biology 3

will take this year:
english lit
spanish lit
physics
statistics
government and politics
macroeconomics
calculus ab

others offered

studio art
french language

i need to know about this whole independent study deal. what courses can you do it in? do you get all the books and tests that are preplanned or do you do whatever you want and take the ap exam at the end of the year?

Just get a prep book and take the test. (or whatever you want, independent studies, at my school at least, are completely structured by the student.)

do you still get credit at school as in an actually course listed on your transcript?

for instance, i was originally thinking of just waltzing into another high school in the next township that offers ap chinese (because my school doesn't) in june and taking the test for kicks. if i did inde-study, will chinese be listed on my list of credits even though there's no such thing at my school?

Taken six: World History (5), US History(5), Chemistry(5), Calculus BC(5), Statistics(4), Latin Vergil(4)
Taking five: US Government, Latin literature, Physics C, English Literature, Computer Science

Others offered: Studio Art, 3D art, Biology, Calc AB, Spanish Lang., French Lang., Art History

Most schools won't give you credit for self taught APs, but you do get credit in college, and it'll help if you want to get awards based on it.

latin... ap... those two words don't make sense together in my head... latin by itself doesn't make sense! i've gotten away with a's for the past few years... but idk how i've done it!

My school is actually giving me a math credit for my BC self-study, but most won't, and that's not why I'm doing it anyway, like Flavian said.

my school doesnt give you credit unless u take the online course

alrighty thanks to all so far... it's getting late and i start acting high when it gets late... err early in the morning i guess. all this laptop screen radiation is going to catch up with me eventually... it's time to retire atop my matress! keep posting, people! i'd like to see more of what others are doing! thankss!

my high school did offer APs but the IB program dominated. APs were secondary. although the school administration was nice enough to provide us with popular AP tests (like US history, english lit, calculus AB, spanish, etc). they were even nice enough to administer exams for some students who are enrolled in an IB course similar to the AP version (like biology) who self studied and decided to take the exams.

unfortunately, IB and AP need to get together to determine test dates or something, cuz its impossible to take 3 tests in 1 day!! (IB english, AP statistics, AP Spanish) ahhh!!!!

kfc, can you take one of the APs on a make up day? I know IB doesn't have make up days, so moving those isn't an option.

I haven't taken any APs before this year. ;)

Currently, I am taking 3 APs: French Language, English Literature, and Environmental Science.

My school offers 12 APs in total.
