We barely have to read at all (maybe 1/2 books a quarter). So how many books do you guys have to read a week? Also good book suggestions.

my teacher gives us a month to read one book, we read In Cold Blood for October, for November (right now), we’re supposed to read Scarlet Letter

we also read short selection passages and essays in addition to books

We read the Scarlet Letter in the Summer, and we spent October reading Huckleberry Finn. We are now spending November reading the Great Gatsby, so I think we just read a book a month until April, when we start to review for the exam.

We had a summer reading book (Huck finn) that we worked on for awhile, maybe a month and a half. Then we spent about a month and a half on the schoolwide summer book (slaughterhouse five). We’re now doing The iliad, so thats 3 over the course of a semester, or 4 when you count the outside reading book we had to pick for ourselves. We also have a bunch of poems and essays that we have to read now and then, but overall the class is really relaxed in terms of work. Its mostly a bunch of in class discussions of works and timed essays.

We don’t read books.

The Scarlet Letter and The Great Gatsby were part of last year’s curriculum.

I’ve read 6 books/plays this year already. We usually have to write 5 page journals on each book, and take quizzes daily on facts, as well as a final in class timed essay.

Well there’s two AP English: Language and Literature

We haven’t even started reading books yet; we’ve been learning about analyzing using short stories, poems, and AP Prompts. We start reading this week with the Scarlet Letter.

^Seeing how he doesn’t seem to be in second grade, I think he’s referring to AP: English Lit.

We took like 2 months to read Hamlet and watch the movie o_O. I love my lit class, we don’t do anything… of course, I may feel differently come May.
