<p>My son applied to 11 schools - three “big” private school mega-reaches, one in-state private reach, 6 of the UC’s match/reach, and one “safety” Cal Poly, SLO (accepted).</p>

<p>I think he’d be quite happy at Cal Poly, so it’s nice that the pressure’s off, but the waiting continues… especially for news from Palo Alto. :)</p>

<p>My son just got his first acceptance at UIUC, our state flagship. It was expected, but it’s nevertheless good to have one “in the bag,” especially since the school is Top 10 in the nation for his chosen major, computer science.</p>
