An age old question, I know. I've got a list of 14 schools and I'm going crazy trying to narrow them down.

I was in your shoes last year.

If your school has Naviance or past admission records (ask your GC)
to these 14 colleges study them and see if you fall in the cluster of
acceptances. Do not apply to more than 2 safety schools. Eliminate the
other safeties from your list. On match schools use the Naviance to
eliminate the easier matches. You should be able to get your overall list
down to 6-8 at this point.

As many as you want. I'm applying to 14 min. and might add between 2-4 more. It honestly depends on the specific situation (applicant's competiveness, competiveness of the schools, financial situation, etc.)

Out of 20 schools you apply to, if one gives you a full scholarship, you're set. It's worth applying to as many as you can.

Typically you want to do this:

2 reaches; 3 matches; 2 safeties. I think that most people on CC do 8-10

i would say around 8...

in your experiences, do teachers get angry if you apply to too many? I mean, i knwo they don't have to do additional writing, but do they get annoyed anyway?
