HOW MANY ECs?

How many ECs/ activities did you guys write down?
I don't know if I should include small things too
like a one day thing... I want to list as much as possible, but
at the same time don't want to seem OBSESSIVE you know?
GAHHHHHH
my apps are due nov 15 for UOP

PLEASE HELP

I listed 5 activities total on my Common App. I was involved in 3 of them through grades 9-12 (basically all of high school), and the other 2 through grades 10-12. I think you should only list the activities that are the most meaningful to you.

I listed 8 activities on my common app. I was involved for 3+ years for most of them. I could have listed some other things like National Honor Society, but I’m not really involved in them, so I didn’t think it was worth mentioning them.

Me too

The general rule is that you don’t list one day things unless you have nothing better to list. Or if you have several of these and feel the need to list them, you can consolidate all your short term volunteer ECs into a single category.

All my sporadic volunteer activities are grouped under my Additional Information section, but other than that I have 11 activities.

Exactly, since you most likely wouldn’t feel very passionate about or feel committed to one-day stints…

I have 4 listed.

Keep in mind that the range of numbers of EC’s recorded here most likely represents what each individual applicant deems to be most important to himself/herself, so there is really no “correct” number of activities to write down.

I have 9 listed; All (except one) of which I participated in for 3+ years, some even from elementary school. I say list the ones which are important to you OR are those in which you recieved an award/accomplished something worth mentioning.
