How many hours/week is your student in class?

D attended a school with semesters and about 32 credits for graduation (plus a few other things)
Freshman year if I remember right she took hum which was considered 1 & 1/2 credits ( required for all freshman) lecture/seminar-so that was probably lecture 1+ hours with 4 hours or so of seminar. Also bio and chem. which are both lab classes so heavy on lab time. but a lab could take as long as it takes. ( but probably worked out to 18-20 hrs week)
With those classes , only 3.5 credits even though time consuming she was light credits, so she also took summer course at community college ( qtr system- 1 class of 5 credits would transfer as 1 credit to the semester school)

All the classes require much reading and writing.
Practicum classes like music require much practice outside class, but then not as much as studio art, which is why she fullfilled her arts requirement with music courses instead of art courses, even though she was originally thinking of attending an arts school rather than a LAC.

Her work study job freshman year was off campus- working as a tutor in a nearby high school. Since she didn't have a car, that was fairly time consuming. Subsequent years she worked on campus.

* I'm* Taking classes at the community college. Qtr system- inc lab classes . 15. 5 credits- 20 hours in class. ( not counting time outside of class that it takes to drive to the off site locations)
When I would take regular college transfer courses, the number of credits are more reflective of time spent in class. So when I took 18 credits- that would translate to 18 hours in class.
