^The problem with smoking is that it is guaranteed to cause problems. Driving is dangerous, but there isn't a guaranteed crash.

My biggest problem with smokers is those who are convinced that their decision to smoke DOESN'T affect others. If you're outside, away from people and places, I could care less whether or not you kill yourself with cigarettes. However, people who smoke in restaurants, sports games, crowded city streets, etc. tick me off because they don't care who is breathing in that smoke. I am a living example of how bad second-hand smoke is and I have to change many aspects of my life due to the problems that second-hand smoke has caused for me. That's just not right. Be considerate of others.

^Well, that's the same reason marijuana can't be fully legalized. You think I want to smell herb everywhere I go? No, it's a public nuisance.

^ But at least there's no evidence (that I know of, I could be wrong) that second-hand marijuana can cause anything other than a little buzz.

I have no problem with smelling the smoke, it's the asthma and hearing problems that I could do without.

The winning side is very clear here.

Well...that's because you're used to the smell. Those of us who aren't have to endure. If marijuana is fully legalized I'm gonna have to invest in portable air fresheners.

^ I'm actually very used to the smell of both and pot smells better. But either way, my point wasn't was that I could or couldn't smell it, I just meant I would careless about the smell if it caused no health problems.

^ Yeah, but I think is smells gross. Does not matter though, because I never have to smell.

^ You're lucky.

Ugh, at the train station where I board after school, there are all these pot heads and smokers everywhere, and it just smells so bad.

All the smells mix together, and it isn't very pleasant.

Romani, where do you smell all this pot?!

I just thank god i never lived in the 70's.

My dad lived just outside of DC during Nam. He said, you could literally see the smoke drifting out of DC into the burbs.

rmadden, my parents are potheads lol.

Romani, really! That is awesome. My dad and mom used to be, upuntil their divorce when I was in 8th grade. However, they had alcohol to top it off. :)

^ Actually it kind of sucks. Lol. Normal people would love it, but I am adamantly anti-drug. My mum is an alcoholic too on top of it, but my dad never touches the stuff. Actually, come to think of it, he quit pot a few years ago too.

My county banned smoking in restaurants in '06, and a statewide ban of public indoor smoking went into action in February of this year. Yayay!

right thread this time

how is having pothead parents "awesome"?

"^Well, that's the same reason marijuana can't be fully legalized. You think I want to smell herb everywhere I go? No, it's a public nuisance."

Why? The smell is quite enticing.

^ Every time I smell traces of pot, I think of old, crazy people with hobo-like appearances.

I hate train stations.

i dont even know how this whole thing got into an argument...
