How many on HSL

Actually take notes for their classes?
It'd be nice to say for which classes you take them.

Chemistry, because the teacher is awesome.

no other classes cause they dont make us

Never in high school.
Not really in college either, because almost all of my classes are discussion-based.

The only one I took notes for last year was Anthro 433. It was required for our journals (which were 75% of our grades). [PS- Set the curve in a senior-level class, while a first-year student. Just throwing that out there :p]

I always take notes for math because otherwise I will not understand or remember it when I try to do homework later that day. I also usually take notes when we read a novel/poem/story in English because I know that whatever the teacher says regarding analysis of the novel is fair game for a test.

Now that I have less than 20 days left of school though, I’ve pretty much checked out and I don’t take notes for any class.

I take notes for calc BC, but that’s about it. Used to take notes for chem AP last year.

I take notes for everything… it counts for binder grades and, quite frankly, I’d never be able to pay attention during class/remember what I heard if I didn’t take the notes. The only classes I don’t take notes for are gym (duh), health (handouts), and English (nothing to take notes on).

I take notes in History, because we do lectures. In Writer’s Craft and Business we don’t have notes, and in Geography its very rare.

So long as the teacher gives a lesson, I take notes in all of my classes. . . . Why wouldn’t one?

I take notes in History, because information on test isn’t from our books… and that’s it.

I do sometimes just because it’s so boring I have to take notes to pay attention :P

In the beginning I took notes for AP Biology, but then I learned a more efficient way of doing things which was wait til she handed out “objectives”, do said objectives, and listen to the lecture in class.
I took some notes in AP Lit.
I always take notes in my math class (a lowly Pre-Calc course).
Otherwise, I’ve found ways to be efficient without taking notes. Maybe I’m a more auditory and/or visual learner. Who knows. Hopefully I can strike a nice balance in college.

I took lots of notes in AP European History, but only because it was a lecture class with nightly readings and all the tests were heavily minute fact based. And it’s not like it’s hard taking notes on a laptop. I easily did 50000 words in notes (Word word count!) this year.

I take notes in History and English. We often have lectures in English that are fun to take notes during. It is also nice to take notes during History, because I understand it all better just by writing it down.

I take notes in chem, math and physics (although he gives us fill-in-the-blank packets).
Last year I took notes in Euro but I don’t in US because he teaches the class in a way that paying attention to what he says doesn’t help much XD I just go home and read the textbook.

heh i don’t even listen
i just read the textbook before the test

lifegr!!!

Who are you?
Or is this question forbidden ;)

I don’t get why teachers would teach testable material in lectures instead of in textbooks/class files. If I wanted to acquire information, then I’d read it (which not only lets the reader progress at the optimal pace, but also saves time). Classes are supposed to be about explanation and conversation.

Never take notes unless they’re graded.

History- b/c they’re checked
English- b/c she keeps giving us random things we actually need(only half tho)

the others ehhhh i don’t even know if i have spanish notes lol maybe once in awhile she gives us dates for tests and a vocab quiz, no notes lol
