How many subject tests are we allowed to take during one sitting?

So does everyone go to the testing center, find whatever test they want to take and everyone just take a different test?

And what if I wanted to take like 5 subject tests (just a hypothetical), would I be able to do them all in one day?

You’re allowed up to 3 subject tests.

All students taking a subject test are in the same classroom. You’re all given a chunky book of all the subject tests, so whichever one you want to take first you find it in the chunky book and take it.

@romeonachos could I take another 3 on a different date after the first 3 tests?

Yes you can. But you better to focus on 3 subjects or so to get good scores on them. If you do have strength in 5 subjects, there is nothing to stop you. However, most schools only ask for 2 SAT2 scores if they do require them. Also, you should be more selective on the subjects as certain programs/schools have specific subject preference.

@billcsho Would it be bad if I took the Chinese Subject Test if I am already chinese and able to speak/read/listen at an adequate level?

I don’t think it would look bad, just be sure to highlight other subjects you excel in. Language subjects tests are especially impressive when a non-native does well, though i wouldn’t think it undermines your fluency in Chinese (a second language)

@romeonachos
Sorry I had a little trouble understanding what you posted. By “.Language subjects tests are especially impressive when a non-native does well,” do you mean it would be more impressive for me (a Chinese student) to do well on a language subject test like Spanish?

If you score well on Chinese, depending on the college, you can place out of the language requirement. Since it’s over and above the 2-3 some schools require, I think the colleges will be pretty neutral, but it will benefit you.

If you have at least 2 other SAT2, taking native language SAT2 is fine. It may not be considered as part of the required SAT2 scores but as additional scores.
