So ridiculous. =[

I needed 7 books this semester; I got three online for about $150 (one of them was a $120 book so I consider this awesome)

The other four... I got for free from the bookstore. Legit. Just checked my bank account online and a month later they still haven't taken out the $480-ish that I 'paid' for them.... Hey, I'm not complaining :D

taking 3 classes for 1st quarter:
$6 for chem
$11 for multivar calc
none for english

Do not purchase through your campus bookstore unless it is absolutely necessary!!!

I first go to AbeBooks and see if I can find the international edition of my textbooks. Although they are paperback and sometimes have a different ISBN, they have identical content. You will probably end up paying 1/10 of what you would have payed at the bookstore. If there is no international edition, try Amazon. Check for the price of the book before you sign into your account. Amazon price discriminates, so you could unwittingly be faced with higher prices if you sign into your account first. Also, make sure you select the "more buying options". Sometimes, Amazon offers the best deal. Other times, another company offers a better deal. After all is said and done, I buy all new books and only end up paying 30-40% of what I would have paid at the campus bookstore.

Of course, you can always spend $0 by illegally downloading your textbooks :(

i paid $125 for everything.

$850 just on books. Doesnt include scrubs, shoes, lab coat, or stethoscope. About $1100 this semester just on books/equipment.

Yay nursing!

try half.com, too.

son saved almost $200 on his books this semester for 4 books...bought the rest at the bookstore. Cost about $350 total.
