How much do I bring when studying abroad(US)

purchase laptop here at the bookstore.</p>

<p>How much money? Is 1k enough for 9 months?</p>

<p>What would you need to cover with that $1k?</p>

<p>It also depends on what part of the country your school is in. In some areas, groceries are expensive but transportation may be cheap.
I personally don’t think 1k is enough because you will need your bedding, toiletries, and all of those extra “surprise” supplemental course materials.</p>

<p>How much to bring depends on a number of factors:</p>

<ul>
<li><p>Do you plan to go to your home country during break(s), or will family/friends some to visit you? These would be opportunities to bring stuff </p></li>
<li><p>Do you have a credit card or ATM card? You can buy stuff locally when you arrive and not haul it from afar.</p></li>

<p>. Aunt bea made a great point actually… There is nothing much to spend money on ha ha. Instant coffee and maybe alochol? ( I am a TGIF type of guy )</p>
