How much does an I-Bank/HF Intern make a hour?

Hi guys,

I was just wondering how much are the other i-bank/HF fund intern get paid at? I have 2 differnet offers for next fall as interns; one a hedge fund that I and another at a mid-sized i-bank. I will most likely be doing research for both of them.

I currently get $19 dollars a hour at the hedge fund I work for. I think the owner just made it up out of thin air cause they do not have any other interns nor do they normally hire interns. Their full-time anlyast there gets paid 40ish a hour so they just divided that by 2 and hence my salary. And I actually do real work besides photo- copying and stapling. The job is slowly taking over my life too cause I definitely work overtime while at school; being on the bottom of the food-chain suck ass. I worked for 20-25 hours a week.

But unfornuately, the HF is relocating their office and I can no longer make the drive to work. It is now a 3 hour drive to get there as oppose to down the street from my dorm.

So both of the internship offers I got for the fall ask me for my "salary requirement". So I am wondering if I should just ask for $19 a hour or is that too high/low?

I am NASD 63, 65, and 7 certified and I took the wall street prep course (it is really good) if it makes a difference.

Apperciate it

J.J.

With those certifications you could probably get a little more an hour, but why risk it?(keep in mind fall internships pay a lot less than fall internships, $18 an hour seems to be the norm)

Most top tier IB's pay approx 1k a week + housing, for summer internships.

In the UK, summer interns get 650-700 pounds a week on average. That would be close to 5k a month.
