how much does duke interview help your application?

I had my interview today and she was pretty enthusiastic about my application, and kept telling me what a "well-rounded student" I was. However, I thought the interview lasted kinda short (40 minutes?) and she may have just been raving about me out of politeness. I guess I was just wondering how much the interview actually helps your chances of making it in?

Mine was ~45 mins and I got in in December

40 minutes is a fine length. The interview basically counts as another reference; if it reinforces the qualities mentioned in the references from your teachers/counselors/etc. then it’s certainly a good thing.

Mine was 45 minutes as well. I think it’s important. It’s the only time the university actually gets to see you and hear your voice. Interviews are extremely helpful if you’re a good speaker.

Mine was 20 mins. and I got in ED. My interviewer was pretty serious too, so as long as you do your part well, that’s all that counts.
