How much does getting to be a PSAT national merit scholar help in admissions

How much does it actually help in college admissions?

For Ivys and top tier publics and privates, a little, but in no way guarantees admissions or lessens the other requirements in SAT/ACT, GPA, essay, and ECs.

Ah so for top public and privates it basically has as much weight as doing an extracurricular or less?

How much weight does it have for middle tier colleges like UC Riverside and University of San Francisco?

If you are an NMF, I doubt you have trouble getting admitted to those schools. Where I find NMF status was a big help was in getting guaranteed scholarships (often full tuition scholarships) from major public universities such as U of Alabama.

It depends on the school. For some schools, they do care about it and even offer scholarships to you. For most top schools, they care less about it as they simply have many NMF and the cut off score for NMF in certain States may be below their admission average.
