How much does it cost?

basically the same around 20-22k

yea all the UC's are about the same in cost

Hmmm... You should be asking yourself about living expenses... Like the previous posts state, all UC's are about the same in tuition costs. Living expenses, and dorm/apartment or wherever you stay is entirely different at all UC's.

...I read in a newspaper article that UCLA may be independently raising tuitions because they are in competition with other top colleges in research and instruction.

I don't know if this is true or not, or if it's even possible, but you might want to research that if you are really curious.

Also, I'm with blind1595. Living expenses is the bigger factor here. Aside from location, also consider cost differences between on/off campus housing, or your own living arrangements.

Costs depend of out of state or in state, on campus or in campus, room and board, buying books and other stuff like clothing, everyday appliances etc.

In-state: $30-32K/year for Tuition/Room/Board/Books/Transportation
Out of State: $55K/year for the same
