How much does it matter graduating from a cuny, suny or private

How much does it matter to graduate/professional schools & even employers in nyc if one were to graduate with a degree from a Cuny, suny or private college? let's just assume three person from each of the respective colleges were in the same program of studies & look to apply for the same job.

One goes to NYU, another goes to Suny binghamton, and the other goes to CUNY Hunter.

Thoughts?

Ridiculously oversimplified unanswerable “prestige” question.

The name on your degree is not going to matter nearly as much as what you do while in school. Graduate schools care about your research experience, which you can gain at SUNY Binghamton just as much as you can at NYU.

as well as Cuny Hunter? Reason I ask is because Cuny hunter is a commuter schools and doesn’t offer much resources/opportunities.

Even though its a commuter school, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t offer much resources and opportunities. Since it’s in the city, of courses there’s plenty of resources and opportunities. It depends what you want to study.

Oh, I thought research and opportunities are found by asking professors within the school?

So name on your degree DOES matter. To what extent though?

No. It’s not just found by asking the professor within the school. You have to go outside of the school to do some research and other opportunities. The name DOES NOT matter to any extent. You should find out if the school offers much opportunities and if its best fit for you and your interests. No one cares if you went to NYU or Bing or Hunter. You need to have high GPA and test scores in order to be admitted to professional school or grad school. So it’s all up on you not the school. It’s how much you made out of the school you went to.
