How much does SAT matter?

How much weight do colleges put on the SAT when it comes to admissions?

What about extracurricular activities (which I only have one major one) and the essay? (which hopefully I'll be able to write a good one)

If I get below their average SAT statistics (and I'm Asian by the way) does it significantly decrease my chances of getting accepted?

What schools are you looking at?

Depends on the school. The common data set at each school (section C) will tell you if the school considers the SAT and ECs in the admission process. There is a group of schools that doesn’t even consider SATs.
Only the very very selective schools care anything about ECs. Since you don’t seem to be considering them, just focus on GPA and SAT prep. Do the ECs you enjoy.

Also many schools don’t require essays and admit based on metrics alone.
