With GPA, standardized testing, extracurriculars, etc all factored in, how likely is the fact that a college hasn’t admitted anyone from a certain high school in 4-5 years a deciding factor in admitting someone?
It’s not going to be a deciding factor, but definitely a significant factor.
Apply to wherever you want to apply. But have a safety that is affordable and you will be delighted to attend.
@bopper im actually a senior right now so just finished the college app process. Reason I was wondering was because I got in to a pretty selective school and I can’t understand why: I have fairly average stats, below average extracurriculars, and mediocre essays. However no one from my school has been accepted there in 4-5 years so I was thinking maybe that’s the reason I got accepted? Not sure how big of a factor that is on admissions but it’s one of the only reasons I could think of why they’d admit me
Maybe you’re underestimating yourself. Clearly the admissions office saw something in you.
