How much financial aid does this school normally give?

Just curious, is UM the type of school to give out decent financial aid? I’m still a Junior in high school and am considering applying, but since I come from a low-income family (> 40,000) , I probably won’t be able to afford the school.

Assuming I get accepted, will they typically give me decent assistance? I did a quick google search and found out that the average financial aid given was around 33k, but I’m not sure if that’s per year or in total.

^^Agree that average financial aid numbers mean nothing to the individual applicant, but to answer the question, the 33k number quoted is per year
