I am a sophmore and my class ranking is number 4. I know this isn’t terrible at all for in-state admissions, but for admission to high ranked colleges how much will this affect my chances?
Depends if you are 4/40 vs 4/400. Also is your school’s ranking based on a weighted gpa, which would factor in rigor or is it unweighted? Bottom line is that selective schools are judging you by how you are doing at your school relative to other students based on grades and rigor of courses. Highly selective colleges are looking for students at the top of their class and who are taking the most challenging set of courses.
I am 4 out of about 330. We do weighted GPA.
That’s a great rank for elite schools–keep it up!
