Food for thought

Quite on the contrary, I gained insights and new vision.

None? What the hell? I learned a lot when I was a hardworking high schooler.

I wouldn’t say I lost my childhood trying to get into Columbia, but my friends/classmates definitely party and hang out more than I do. I usually stay home and study on the weekend while half the senior class is partying it up at someone’s house. A lot of kids at my school are having relaxing senior years, and then there’s me, taking way too many AP classes and losing sleep. My mom says I should chill out and drop some of my APs, but I still want to shoot for the stars when it comes to college.

I would say I don’t have as much fun as I would like to. I can’t wait to get my admissions decision next week, so that I can finally relax a little.

In response to @ilovethecity I don’t necessarily lose much sleep, but I have a very demanding schedule, so I can’t have as much “fun” as some of my peers. I’m proud of the fact that I still take my grades very seriously and they can go ahead and have their “senioritis”. I didn’t lose any of my childhood, but I definitely learned a few valuable lessons these past months.
