Since I'm focusing on music as my main EC (playing viola/piano/local orchestra, etc), how much would it help with admissions if I sent in a sample of my work (assuming it is good enough)? Plus, not many people play viola so would that give me an advantage? Is it the same for H and Y? Thanks!

Pton and most colleges have Art supplement forms that are optional.
If you looked at the YALE SCEA admits this year you will find on CC
that quite a few of them seem to have been admitted on the basis
of the instruments they play (of course the top 5 schools will require that
your playing ability has enabled you to procure multiple honors and awards at
the State/National/International level). It would help if for example you were
recognized by the NFAA or some such organization.

So, will it give an advantage if you are very very good at it in terms
of skill and recognition...?

Obviously yes!

:)

definitely yes. I am no musician or else I would send a sample of work.
