How (non)competitive is my high school?

So, I've been scouring CC posts for the past 2 hours to gauge the competitiveness of my school, but I think I have a rather strange situation. Please forgive yet another thread asking this question.

I go to a large public school in the Midwest. We're known to be a "jock" school, with a nationally-known football team. Academically, the lower 75% of my class is terrible--high dropout rates, drug charges, arrests, etc. The top about 15%, though, is rather competitive. Grade inflation is crazy here, so just one A- in a weighted class dropped our last-semester val to a rank of 7.

Personally, I'd always been a straight-A student, but after having a terrible sophomore year (I know, this phrase is ubiquitous on CC) with a variety of issues outside of school, my rank dropped to a little above top 10%.

So, my school may seem ridiculously easy based on the dropout rate (which is actually lowering my class rank significantly), but the top is rather tough.

We get about 10-15 admits to top colleges every year.

My question is... would this be considered competitive? How will this affect college admissions? I'm shooting for the Ivy League.

Thank you!
