@2plustrio I’m rooting for you! I’m sorry for this setback time of life - you sound like someone who will keep chugging along to get to a better spot!
In the morning I feel biological age plus 10 years.
Mid day biological age minus 5 years.
Evening biological age.
Thanks please adjust all numbers up 5 years when alcohol consumed the previous evening.
I don’t mind being my age, but I can’t believe all the others who are my age look so OLD, especially the men. My (literal?) prince charmings were Prince Albert, Prince Andrew. Sports figures were John Elway and a few years older John McEnroe.
They look old. I’m not THAT old!
I saw Johnny Mac on the US Open last night - went totally gray - and he’s owning it. Good for him.
I’m “early” 50s…but next year it’s 54…I can’t say that anymore!!! Where we live in TN, half the college parents are like 41 or 38!!
I’m not shy about admitting I’m 64 but it still takes me by surprise!
I feel much younger than my age. My kids are grown so I would say I feel about mid 40’s. I think much of that is because I am very physically active. I also consider myself pretty open minded about new ideas as well as new music, etc.
Like others that have replied here I feel like I am about 20 years younger than my actual age, so about 40. I am active and love being around people of all ages. I listen to current music as much as the music I grew up with. I still swim in the ocean and snow ski as much as I can.
38 like me! (just don’t look at my birth certificate)
Interesting question. I think I feel the age I was when I’m around people I met at that age. Most of my friends I hang out with on a consistent basis, I was late 30’s/early 40’s, so I suppose I feel that the majority. But when I’m with my best friend, I’m 15. Haha. I guess 41, which is 20 years younger than I am right now. It shocks me to realize I’m this age.
My grandmother made comments about being young on the inside when I was a kid. I believed her, but couldn’t fully grasp that until I hit my 40s and 50s.
I would say I’m 39 most of the time, and 19 for a few brief moments when I see clothing styles from my teens and twenties making a comeback and I get excited about wearing them again - before stopping to wonder if a 59 yr old should do that.
I’m 59, too. I think I feel about 45.
I DO make an effort to remember what it was like to be 23 and struggling in my first job, or 35 and taking care of an infant and two little kids, so that I can empathize with the next generation. I feel that a lot of people forget how hard those stages of life are and don’t show any sympathy.
37
My 80 year old FIL says he feels like he’s in his 30s on the insides too.
In my mind I’m in my early 40’s; my body often reminds me otherwise. I faced a harsh reality when I found out I was the oldest in our friend group. I’ve been told I don’t look my age, but I think it’s the darker olive skin. I do get carded; ok it’s a state law that they have to card everyone, but I’m just going to take it as a compliment
I don’t know, but my wife constantly tells me I’m 5.
@bloomfield88 My husband and son must be your friends!
Interesting question. I am 58 and going to go with 48-50.
I work out every day and am conversant in pop culture – sports, Kanye, etc. Most of my friends are younger than me. All that makes me feel younger than lots of people my age.
What makes me feel older? I’m not good with technology and don’t care. lol I’m dying for a grandkid, and dh just retired.
I feel quite young but mirror makes me feel old, face didn’t keep up with the soul.
ETA: I just had a conversation with an Allstate rep and now feel OLD. I had something totally wrong, but, in my defense, I was steered in that direction by my 67yo brother!
My turning 65 next month.
Medicare, yaaaaay.
Inside I feel about 46.
At 46 I was still killing at work, enjoying our 2 grade school kids and believing (mostly) that I looked pretty good in short skirts.
In retirement now, I’m actually as fit physically, maybe better. But the memory is weary.
And my face betrays me.
Son and DIL just had our first grandchild. I think I’ll enjoy being a 60 something grandma.
My sister, at 67, is now a great-grandma. She sees herself as ‘old’.
I am 70ish, and many of my friends are in 50s & 60s. I had happy hour with my GF and we could both wear shorts (& look fine).
I like living in a neighborhood with people of all ages.
I like working part time & am happy to not go to the office daily. I have no need to prove myself to anyone.
I really look forward to being a grandmom some day. I’m grateful my son & DIL have good jobs.
In short, life seems less complicated now
For a really long time, I always said I felt 22 on the inside. I think that’s misleading, though, because when I was 22, I always felt more mature than my peers. I had to take some time off from college because my mom had a heart attack and I went home and got a job as an assistant manager at a card store. I was fired 3 months later because they realized I wasn’t even 20 and the owners felt uncomfortable with someone so young being in charge and in the store alone. They had no idea I was still a “kid” when they hired me and never paid attention to the dates on my application.
Anyway… I still feel very young on the inside but I know I have wisdom and maturity beyond how I feel. If I average those numbers with my actual age, I would say I am 30.
