Just for those who were wondering: Recieving an outside scholarship will reduce your loan amount before grants/scholarships.
I emailed them to make sure. I asked “how would a outside $5000 scholarship affect my financial aid?”
Their reply: “If you get an outside scholarship of $5000 we will reduce your loan by that amount. We are advocates to ensure you receive the best financial aid as eligible and possible.”
