How qualified are Harvard Sophomores. In what ways are they better than the competitive students in other non-elite schools. What does an average day of an sophomore(especially the ones in the STEM department) look like at Harvard? Please answer this question if :
a) You are a Harvard student
b)Parent of a Harvard student
c)You have a very close friend attending Harvard.
How qualified as opposed to what? To do relatively well in classes at Harvard? H has a very high return rate after the first year. That’s an indicator of both the finances of the students and their qualifications.
It’s not as if there is some magical standardized test that they take by which you can compare them with say students at the large public state university. Like I said, return rate or even 4 year grad rates are mostly a function of economics. Of course admitted H students have higher academic achievement than many other schools – but what does that show you?
I think you need to re-work your questions and assumptions. Earlier, you inquired about transferring into Harvard and were universally given advice to not pursue it because you’re not a viable candidate. Does this have to do with that? I’m hoping it doesn’t. I’m hoping you give up the idea of transferring into any elite Uni and become content at the affordable uni you currently attend.
There isn’t some sort of objective hierarchy of value, or even intelligence, among people in any context. Harvard students aren’t “better” than anyone. There are wonderful, smart people at community colleges and some who aren’t in college at all. This question is very poorly written and, to me, verges on being offensive as it appears. Maybe you mean something else.
From your other posts it looks like you’re a low income international student attending a US college. There’s a lot of competition for spots for internationals, especially for CS, so you were very fortunate to get one. Don’t waste it by pining away for an elite college that very few people are able to attend.
