How Reasonable Are These Law Options?

Hi everyone,

Back again. But this time very shortly, heh heh.

Just curious if anyone of you know how reasonable these types of law practices might be that I've recently read about:

1.) Solo Practice

2.) Military Law (e.g. JAG)

3.) Insurance Defense

I know what a solo practice is, but don't know much about the other two areas. Are these very tough to obtain and do they pay well?

I've heard some conflicting opinions about solo practice. Some say you can make it into a decent career (particularly in smaller or even rural areas), while others say that you do not make much money in them at all. What do folks know about solo practices? I'd love to learn more, esp. the "inside" knowledge types of stuff!

And the same with these other two areas of law. They actually sounded interested when I first came across them.

Thanks so much everyone and have a great one!!! :)

Solo practice-opportunities vary from time to time and place to place. But you have to be willing to be your own boss. You need self-discipline to carry this off, especially if you do it voluntarily.

Military/JAG law - you will be an officer in the Armed Services and will make military pay, but it can be complex and exciting. Depends on what area of law you will be practicing as JAGS practice in many areaas of both civil and criminal law. You may be thinking of acting as a defense lawyer for people accused of crimes while in the military.

Insurance defense - you will work at or as a lawyer for, insurance companies, defending against insurance claims, which may be made by individuals or by businesses.

In order to give you any better information we would need to kow how old you are and at what stage of life.
