My D is a high school junior and is thinking seriously about colleges. PC is at the top of her list. Since she is not a religious person I was wondering how that would impact her PC experience if she should decide to go there. I would appreciate the perspectives of PC students who also are not particularly religious.

The other schools on her list currently are: College of St. Rose (NY), Siena College (NY), Marist College (NY), Salve Regina (RI), and Univ. of Vermont. Has anyone visited any of those schools? If so, what was your impressions and why did you choose PC instead?

Also, my D is planning to major in Social Work so any info on that program is also very much appreciated.

My guess is that when Mom & Dad are not shaking them out of bed on Sunday morning, church attendance of college students drops. Any religion! And I suspect most of them at PC are not staying up late at night discussing Aquinas.

We visited PC last week and much was said on the tour about the volunteer things the kids do. I was glad to hear that. We are Catholic; I have gotten the impression that at Catholic schools, the kids express their upbringing more by doing service things than by hanging around the chapel. There will be plenty of kids at Mass on Sunday but they are not obliging anyone to go or things like that. They get back to church after they marry & have kids!

They also told us the 10:30 pm mass on Sunday nights is very well attended (it has a band). And they have a room in the basement of the chapel that has food and a hangout for studying – now that is one way to get them to the church.

My D is a Jr too. Hope to keep talking to you!
