i guess it's a great EC

I've just finished my prereqs for my Gold, and am starting the project next month. The prereqs took me about 1.5 years to do.

I'm really looking forward to that project.......

im about to have my board in a couple of weeks. ive been working on eagle for 10 years and while i know it probably wont help with scholarships it will at least show my potential colleges/employers that im dedicated enough to finish something

ckim, Congratulations! Eagle is an accomplishment that will stay with you your whole life.

My son is an Eagle and I have no doubt that this accomplishment was a positive factor in his admission to a highly selective LAC -- certainly not the only factor, but still a significant one.

The speaker at the info session we attended at the University of Michigan used Eagle rank as an example of an ideal extracurricular. It shows dedication, hard work, continuity, progression, leadership, mentoring and character.

Some colleges are more Eagle-friendly than others --look for those with individulistic ethos and active, outdoorsy cultures.

On the downside, if you interview, you may be challenged to justify some of the BSA's perceived negatives -- like their alleged antigay stance. Be prepared.

My son is a Life scout, for three years now. He's 16 and the demanding high school curriculum took over our life so,,, maybe if he gets time, he'll finish when he's a senior
