How stressful is Berkeley Engineering?

Basically as the title states, is it stressful, and is the course load overwhelming?

Thanks. :]

it really isn't if you know how to manage your time. attend lectures so you don't have to cram. start projects as soon as they're assigned.

good luck

Any engineering course at Berkeley is competitive, but you have the option to make it not too bad for yourself if you don't take too many courses. The more classes you take, the harder it becomes [exponentially]. The bottom line is you should balance the more lab-based and project-based courses with the problem-set based courses, so you don't get overwhelmed by either aspect.

Some people take really stressful engineering schedules though!! If one were to take like 5 EE courses, 3 of which are EE 126, EE 143, and EE 117, for instance....kind of evil =] though, my rule of thumb is that if you REALLY want those classes on your schedule, you can handle them. If you're taking them just to look like you're challenging yourself, you probably won't handle them.

Yeah and good advice above -- engineering [and math and physics really] are very different from other subjects. In high school, you're probably used to having a diverse array of courses, but here you'll probably just have engineering, etc. And these subjects are all about staying up to speed. If you do, it's really not hard. But since they're about ideas, you can't really cram them effectively.

I'm sure you'll do OK!
