@JuanitaRebel, same! Haha 6’3. The only kid in my class who’s taller than me is the varsity quarterback and he’s 6’4.

jimbo seems a little bit ashamed of his cousin…

they probably understand societal expectations, just don’t follow some of them. maybe it really is bad as you make it sound though and they don’t even understand them. but that would be really anomalous.

I’m barely 5 ft so most guys are taller than me lol

It really depends on personal preference. Honestly, most girls are probably reluctant to date guys who are shorter than they are for superficial reasons. (Dancing might be a little awkward. The girl would tower over her man if she wore high heels, which might look a little awkward. She might have to bend down to kiss him, which also might be a little awkward. Etc.)

And if they were to marry and have kids, the kids would always be shorter than Mom.

My dad is shorter than my mom by 1 or 2 inches and they don’t care.

If it’s a huge difference in height such as the woman is 5’10 and the male is 5’1, then that looks weird. I think that since society thinks that since men are stronger than women, they also think that men should be taller than women. In the entire history of humans, the male human is portrayed as the king of all humans. They are the most dominant people out there. Back then, men had all or most of the rights, and women has very little rights. So it’s only natural to see a tall male portrayed as a dominant figure and the woman to be seen as a smaller, less important figure. But as you fast forward to the 20th and 21st century, everyone has rights, both female and male. So now you see people like Mary Curie, Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton and more as dominant WOMEN. So now both males and females are at the same level of power. So that can be applied to the controversy of women being taller than her husband/boyfriend.

It’s a kind of stereotype that we take too seriously and I think that’s why you don’t see a shorter man with a tall woman often because people think it’s weird.

I don’t even know where I’m going with this. Sorry. I’m limited on time so I can’t explain everything I said.

^ I see your point about stereotyping, but as a strong female I would feel out of place if I was with a weak/short guy, don’t mind if they’re not stronger than me though.

@ Lucyan there are exceptions to every rule, so you never know… ;)

He claims Asberger’s. I don’t buy it. I hung out with him for our whole childhood. Around 17, he decided to try on awkwardness as a quirk. He liked it. It stuck.

I’m 5’9" and I really only like guys my height or taller. From my experience, being with shorter guys ends up being awkward. Not because of ecpectations or anything, I just like my guys to be big and strong.

I’m surprised: there are a lot of tall people on CC. I expected the opposite, because I assumed that most CCers are top students who study day and night = less sleep + more stress = less height. At least that’s how it works at my high school.

^Lucyan: or the short people just aren’t commenting. I’ve never noticed that though.

@Lucyan: omg that must be true for me. |D I have been 5"6’ since 7th grade and haven’t grown since because after I entered middle school/high school, I have always slept late (studying, doing homework, procrastinating, playing video games, LOL)

@Efeens44 Nice haha. I’m actually not considered that tall at my school. There are tons of people who are way taller than me. I think we had people measuring in at
6’7, 6’6, 6’5 as well as a litany of people who are over 6’0. We had a 2 girls who were over 6’2 as well. Most of them were seniors though so now I’m probably one of the
top 3 tallest people at my school.
Being so tall I appreciate all of these ladies not precluding me from their pools of potential dates, but aren’t the girls the ones who complain about guys being too shallow, superficial, and not focused on personality(stereotyping what I hear at my school).

I want him to be taller than me! I’m 5’10" so my favorite height for guys to be is more than 6 feet. But if a guy is cute, nice, and otherwise great, I’m not opposed to him being a bit shorter.

And if it’s just a prom date, he has to be around the same height as me or taller when I’m wearing heels, lol

6’ 2" master race here.

I feel sorry for you manlets under six foot, you’re gonna have a rough time competeting with real men. Should probably eat some oatz to ensure maximum gainz while you still can.

And if it’s just a prom date, he has to be around the same height as me or taller when I’m wearing heels, lol
^ lolyeah I totally agree with this. XD

Luckily it won’t be hard for me since I’m so short. xD

I’m 5’8. I don’t think I’m done growing yet though. Hoping to be 5’10, but hitting 6’ would be awesome (high chance this isn’t going to happen LOL).
