Not going to lie, my grades are pretty decent. My GPA should be a 3.8/3.7 by the time I graduate. SAT is about 2150. Etc etc. EC's are pretty good.

My dream school is Northeastern in Boston. Tuition per year is 54,000$. I plan on majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and then going for my CPA license.

EFC is around 20,000, merit scholarships will hopefully be given. With the coop how much can I hope to dent out of my overall tuition? My ultimate dream is to attend Northeastern. I would hopefully do 4 year with 2 coops in order to save some money instead of 5. How hard is it for a full ride? What are some common stats on full ride recipients?

My dream is to attend this school, and I will be willing to do whatever it takes to go here. How would you suggest I go about funding this school? My parents do decent, but their income and stuff looks better on paper than in actuality. My twin brother will be attending college at the same time, but probably a local college.

I'm willing to work my butt off to go to school here, is it possible to get a 2nd job at the same time as coop? How about during a usual semester?

Any advice on being able to fund my dream school? I'm not looking for "its unrealistic, go to a state university, etc." I know what I can afford and I know what I am willing to do in order to attend this university.

I don’t think NEU meets need, so EFC may not matter. Plus, the school may also use CSS Profile. Have you used their Net price calculator on the NEU website?

Merit scholarships get applied to “need”, so if you’re trying to reduce your family contribution, that’s not likely.

I don’t know of any “free rides” to NEU.

NEU does give “free tuition” to NMFs, but that’s not a free ride. I think you’d need higher stats to get a lot of merit from NEU if you’re not a NMF.

I was in the exact same place as you literally a week ago, I fell in love with Northeastern and financial was totally out of my realm. I am a senior now and I was lucky to be admitted but after talking and talking with people about student debt and going to graduate school afterwards I started realizing that undergrad should not cost this much money! I think it should personally depend on you if you are willing to take in the student debt, but I just want to warn you the Northeastern is a money making institution and financial aid if not “need based” is totally out of the question. I am a good student and have similar GPA and SAT to you and they offered me 0, my mom and I even called and begged and they informed us that only the top 15% of their students get merit-scholars, and as you most likely know Northeastern is a very competitive school. I understand that you feel like its your dream school, but through this journey I have been looking at colleges I realized a lot of other colleges have a lot to offer, and you dont need to do co-op to get a job. It is ALOT of money, and I think you should ask yourself is it worth it? Thats just some advice coming from someone in a very similar situation. Good luck with everything!
