I looked at Pomona admissions web-site and didn't find any on-line version of it's common app. supplement - only a downloadable paper version. It looks very strange for today's most colleges obscession with on-line applications. Does it mean that it's better to send to them the Common Application on paper, too (together with the paper supplement)? Or - does it really matter?

You should be able to access an e-form version of the Pomona Supplement through the Common App website directly.

I tried to ... there is only a downloadable paper version of the athletic supplement.

I'm having the same issue... :

When I applied I ended up just printing everything out (after typing everything into the common app main part) and sending it in through the mail since you can't do it online

knr802,
On the common app instructions is says not to print out a copy of the common app after you've filled it in online and send it to admissions offices. I was wondering why they say that, and what difference it would make. Did you find that your printed out copy looks fine and everything?

The common app people seem to think you should either send it electronically, or else fill out by-hand a paper copy. I don't get it?

Does anybody know why they say not to print once you've filled it out online and send it as a paper app? Is there some consequence to that?

Does Pomona specifically say that or does the common app website say that? I'll have to look back at what exactly I did but I'm pretty sure I printed it out and sent it... it didn't seem to have any consequences to me... I am afterall writing this from my dorm room at Pomona!
Maybe someone else can answer you for sure though

It's the common app instructions that say that, not Pomona.

Hope you're enjoying it there!

As of today, you can submit the online version of the supplement through the common application website.

Just a word of warning, my daughter submitted her supplement on-line last year on 12/23/06 and they didn't download it until 2/15/07.
Many on CC had the same situation. She applied RD. They also took a long line to confirm they received her mid-year report.
I think they have so many ED I & II applications that they don't even start looking at the RD ones until mid-Feb. I think it is wise to do app and supplement on-line because if you are waiting for confirmation that they received your paper RD application you will be freaking out for 2 months. At least on-line you have proof you submitted it on time even if they wait until later to download it.

So is it advisable/appropriate to send in all of the extra forms (Preliminary Application, Required Signatures, Common App Supplement, and Arts/Athletic/Science Supplement) on paper but submit the Common App online?

If you use the common app online they want the supplement online also. Just be prepared for them not showing that they downloaded your supplement right away. They seem to wait to download the common app supplement until they are ready to actually look at it.
