Remember that you are only a teenager once. So study your ass off during weekdays and hang out with friends during weekends, so that when it’s all over, you can look back and sincerely say that these 4 years are the best years in your life.

And most of all, Do not forget who the real enemy is.

Remember that you will incontrovertibly spend the best four years of your life in high school.

Oh, and have sex. A lot.

^ No, remember that high school is a rite of passage to be endured, not enjoyed.

Always tell yourself that there will be fun later, even when later comes.

great advice. Work hard. Play hard. Know how to discipline yourself so the two don’t mix too often. However, if high school is the best four years of your life, then there’s generally a problem…Not to say that you shouldn’t have a blast with amazing memories, but know that the future, with enough work and dedication, is oh so much better.

omg i’m marking this thread as best source! :D

we need to repost quora threads onto cc,
and then unmark them as best source because the cc version is better

Sent from my PC36100 using CC App

hahahahahaha

the other way around too :D

Explore, find your passion, and pursue it. Value relationships with friends, teachers, family, etc as much as you do for grades/scores.

Take some risks and have a blast!!!

Time management.

Get involved in extracurriculars.

Ask the upperclassmen how hard certain classes are. My sophomore year, I was put in Honors Modern World History even though I didn’t want to take any history that year at all, and I ended up switching into regular MWH. Turns out that the only difference between the two classes was a few essays and the matching portions of tests were fill-in-the-blank instead. Would have looked nice to colleges if I took the honors class, even if it wasn’t actually much harder.

The bottom line is that just because a class is honors or AP doesn’t mean it’s going to be much harder than its regular counterpart.

Don’t be a college whore. By that, I mean don’t ruin your life by overscheduling yourself with hard classes and extracurriculars just to get into a good college. You’ll probably end up unemployed regardless of your school in this economy anyway :)

well first of all, get enough sleep,

if you don’t sleep you won’t want to study,
and if you can’t study you won’t want to sleep,
and then bad things happen,

also not sleeping can make you depressed,
i started having mental health issues sophomore year when i started sleeping three hours a night, (“killing yourself is like sleeping, but forever, right?”)

and i don’t think i would have said this in high school but now that i’m in college i would rather take an extension on a problem set than lose a night of sleep,
i do this every so often and still get good grades,
much better than the ones i’d get if i pulled all nighters and couldn’t focus in class,
that being said paying attention in class in high school isn’t as important as in college so meh,

also read the textbooks for all your classes,
in high school (unlike in college) the textbooks they assign are usually good, sometimes better than the teachers, and often you actually have time to read them

Thanks for all the advice

magic. a little magic powder and the right spell and you are set.

I’m only a sophomore, but I think having time management (biggie), a few close friends, maybe even one or two close teachers (for advice, venting, whatever), and enough sleep are the keys.
