So one day, my dream job is actually to become an admissions officer. I'm actually really interested in the college process etc. So in college, what would I major in?

Major in whatever you want. After you graduate, tell them you want a job, I'd say theres a really high chance you'll get it. I was thinking about trying it out for a year too, I would feel so incredibly powerful.

From what I've seen, admissions officers come from all majors. What can help you get such a job is having done things like ECs volunteering with h.s. students. One Ivy admissions officer whom I know was a computer sci major, and after graduation worked in that field while being a very active alumni interviewer. She enjoyed being an interviewer so much that when there was an opening for an admissions officer, she applied for it and got it.

At many colleges, graduating seniors may be recruited for admissions officer jobs. The seniors who are recruited are ones who have done things like volunteered with freshmen orientation programs, hosted visiting high school students, etc.

To see what life is like as an admissions officer, read the book, "The Gatekeepers," which describes a year in the life of a Wesleyan University admissions officer. It is more very hard and stressful work than one might imagine.
