How to compare the Psych Departments of various schools?

<p>"Some psych departments predominantly focus on the scientific bases of psychology; others on the social aspects"</p>

<p>a good department will have strong offerings in both aspects</p>

<p>My son is a Psych major at Drew and loves it. He has taken a lot of research method courses, stats, etc. but also more interesting to him, Abnormal Psych, Biological Psych, etc. He is interested in getting a Phd one day and Drew seems to prepare the students well, but he also is keeping the idea of School Psychology open, because you only need a masters and there will be a need for them in the near future.
I think one plus for him was the very small classes and the relationships he developed with his professors and advisor. It wouldn't have been my pick for him, but seeing him so interested and excited about something was nice. He is double-minoring in other interests, Econ and a language, but that can also help him later on.
He also loved Clark for Psychology (at least as a prospective student) but their FA package wasn't enough.</p>
