Hey guys, I’m supposed to be doing research on a list of colleges given to me by my college counselor. One thing I can’t seem to consistently find on colleges’ websites is how many students are physics majors, how many are history majors, etc. So does anyone know of somewhere I can find these stats, or some keywords I should try using? Thanks.
Google for the “Common Data Set” file for any school of interest.
Section J of the CDS shows percentage of undergraduate degrees conferred in various fields.
ah great thank you!
You can also go to “College Navigator” on the NCES web site and look under the “Programs/Majors”
for a college to see the number of students graduating in a particular major from different schools.
You may find this is a useful tool for comparing colleges:
http://www.■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/search_group.aspx
Select all of your target colleges and then compare. Use College Navigator for more detailed info.
I’m curious…why is this information important?
thanks guys. @juillet, since i plan to be a physics major i figure it’s important to find out if the school i’m looking at has a lot of other students majoring in physics.
