How does CC decide what schools have a forum? For example, Sonoma State has a forum, but Chico or Sacramento state does not

Given that our community has grown so much it is nearly impossible to maintain forums for every school in existence. Hence, we typically try to create new forums only for those schools which are seeing a decent amount of ongoing discussion in our community (typically in the more general College Search & Selection and College Admissions forums). We rely heavily on members to alert us to possible opportunities for new forums, but we always want to avoid creating dead forums. Suggesting a school just because you may have graduated from there and consider it a fantastic school is not grounds for a new forum…but if we can verify that there have been ongoing threads about that school we will consider adding it.
Thanks for your question!
I would suggest adding Chico state. Easily as many posts for that school as for Sonoma state
We actually look for entire threads about the school (i.e. threads containing the school name). I did a thread title search for “chico” and found only about 4 or 5 so far this year. It’s not great, but may be borderline if you are willing to help foster discussion.
