I applied regular decision to Duke University and it is my dream school. I did not ED because of financial reasons and I wanted to have my first semester grades in. I got a 34 on my ACT (36 English, 34 Math, 33 Science, 32 Reading). I have a 3.96 weighted GPA and a 3.77 unweighted. My ECs are strong such as starting a volunteer club and playing a varsity sport among others.
I was wondering ways in which I could increase my chances of admission maybe by contacting someone in the office about my interest- what are some suggestions?
IMO, you have done everything that you can do. If you have major updates, and I mean major like a national award, certainly feel free to contact admissions. Otherwise, just sit back and try to relax. Contacting them with piddling things will get you remembered, but not in a good way.
Agree with the above. Keep in mind that admissions officers are swamped right now. Only contact them if you have something new and important to say.
