How to Improve my ACT composite of 27 to 32!

are the tips differeint from other books? im thinking about it cuz there is not as much material for the act

I took the september ACTs and got a 31 English and 27 Reading.
I took the October ACTs (along with October SATs, so in reality, I had 2 weeks’ worth of prep for it) and got a 35 English and 34 Reading.

It’s possible!
you need to work for it though.

what is your strag for reading? i discovered my speed reading ability and go about 2.5 min on reading, and then 5-6min on the questions…

I underlined important details.

personally, for me, I like to keep a balance between reading and questions. I’m not a gifted active reader (as my CR skills in SAT show), so I need to take more time on reading the passages.

I just read through it (not speed through it) and maybe underline a few things now and then. but what I do is I actively interpret the thing while reading and for each paragraph, in the back of your head you should be thinking about the main idea of each paragraph.

Practice makes perfect. So, practice, practice, practice! Get your hands on all the practice tests you can and do 1-2 sections everyday.

do you know of any other good mateiral other then sparknotes, barron (their eng is weird), TPR red book, mcgraw hill and the online prep practice booklets?

honestly those should be enough. Start studying as soon as possible! I think actually going through and doing the work is more important than finding the “perfect” test material that will get you a good score. I made the mistake of lurking the forum for good SAT prep books instead of actually studying them haha.

haha thanks… problem is i’ve been through all of em and trying to go through again xD

argh i got a 32 on my first go… this time i got a 27 ***!?!
