Hello everyone! So I have been rejected from the two schools that I was really hoping to attend (Boston University and Northeastern). Its really tough because those schools were my dream and I can’t picture myself anywhere else (money is not an issue for my family).
I’ve been planning on taking a gap year since my freshman year (which I would’ve done even if I’d been accepted to both schools) and I was considering reapplying to them both (and safety schools of course) during next application season while I’m on my gap year.
So my question is, what are some things I can do to improve my application this next round? I definitely will get my SAT up, I’ve recently gotten a job, and on my gap year I will be at a language school abroad and volunteering in my free time. Any other suggestions? Thank you all so much.
Note: This is not an open invitation to bash on me and my decision- please be constructive.
Do something out of the ordinary…but make sure it is something that you enjoy.
It seems like you are already doing many things that can help your application! I would focus on doing the best you can at the things you are planning on doing and maybe seize any additional opportunities that you think you will enjoy while abroad.
good luck!
